Mario Mushroom will grow on almost any substrate that you provide it, including old news papers, cardboard, spent coffee grounds, straw, dead leaves, sawdust, wood chips, your compost pile, or just about anything organic. I personally recommend just simply adding this spawn to your landscaping wood chip beds like around your shrubs, bushes, trees, etc. and these will grow for years and years.

Mario mushrooms are great for beginners just starting out in the hobby, and they are delicious too!
